The chypre fragrance family includes the chypre wood, chypre fruit and chypre animal groups. Based on a woody, mossy and flowery complex, sometimes with aspects of leather or fruits, chypre perfumes are rich and tenacious.

The citrus fragrance family includes the citrus lemon, citrus mandarin, citrus orange and citrus bergamot groups. The light, fresh character of citrus notes (bergamot, orange, lemon, petitgrain, mandarin etc...) is often combined with more feminine scents (flowers, fruits and chypre) to create Chypre Fragrance.

The wood fragrance family includes the wood floral, wood fruit and wood patchouli groups. Woody perfumes are spicy like orientals, but more mellow and natural. They feature wood and moss notes such as cedar, sandalwood, patchouli and vetiver, and are the most unisex of the six fragrance families. Women who prefer woody scents are likely to be free-spirited and earthy. |
